When new versions of Eviory OS are deployed with new features, app additions, and UI improvements, the system is designed to preserve your local data seamlessly across updates.
3-Step Safe Update Workflow
Step 1: Backup Before Major Releases (Safety First)
Before refreshing into a major version update:
- Open Settings → Data & Backup.
- Click Backup Data Vault to download your current workspace snapshot to your hard drive.
Step 2: Clear Application Code (Hard Refresh)
To load the newly deployed JavaScript bundles without disturbing your LocalStorage database:
- macOS (Chrome / Safari / Arc): Press
Cmd + Shift + R - Windows / Linux: Press
Ctrl + F5orCtrl + Shift + R
Step 3: Schema Migrations
Eviory OS automatically checks your local database schema upon booting. If new fields or applications were added (such as Live Work Feed or new Frameworks), the database schema migrates silently in the background without affecting your existing records.
What to Do If the UI Looks Frozen After an Update
- Check that you haven’t opened multiple tabs with differing versions of Eviory OS simultaneously.
- Perform a hard refresh (
Ctrl + Shift + R). - If an issue persists, simply export your backup, reset the workspace under Settings → Factory Reset, and click Import Backup File to rehydrate your clean state.
